Frequently asked questions
Does the free trial require a credit card?
No. The 7-day trial starts when you first sign in, with no credit card. It includes the Growth plan features, up to 100 replies and up to 3 chatbots. It is granted once per email address. At the end, nothing is charged: your chatbot is paused until you choose a plan. See 7-day free trial.
Can I change plans during my subscription?
Yes. Upgrading is immediate: you only pay the price difference, prorated for the remaining days, and your renewal date stays the same. Downgrading takes effect at the end of the period you've already paid for, with nothing charged that day. This change without canceling is available for subscriptions paid by card. See Change plans or cancel.
Can I cancel at any time?
Yes, plans have no commitment. You cancel in two clicks from the Billing page of your dashboard. Your chatbot keeps working until the end of the paid period, then is paused. Your chatbots, leads and conversations are kept for 90 days after your subscription ends: you can resubscribe without setting everything up again.
What happens if I reach my reply limit?
A warning appears in your dashboard as soon as you reach 80% of your quota. Once the limit is reached, the chatbot stops replying until the start of the next month. To keep going without waiting, you can buy a pack of 250 extra replies for the current month, or upgrade to a higher plan. A reply is one message sent by your chatbot to a visitor.
What is the “Your own AI key” option for?
If you already have an account with OpenAI, Google or Anthropic, you can use your own API key. ScanChat AI then no longer limits the number of replies: your provider bills you directly at its own rates. Lead capture features and the number of chatbots are the same as in the equivalent “AI included” plan. See Use your own API key.
Which payment methods do you accept?
Bank cards, entered on a secure payment page (ScanChat AI never sees or stores your card number), and PayPal. Prices are in US dollars; VAT depends on your billing country and is shown before payment. A promo code can be entered in the payment window.
How do I get my invoices?
After each card payment, your invoice is sent by email and can be downloaded as a PDF in the “My invoices” section of the Billing page. Your billing details (company, VAT number, address) appear on it. For a PayPal payment, email us at info@scan-chat.ai. See Payment and invoices.
Does the yearly plan change my limits?
No. With a yearly plan, you pay once a year and get your reply quota every month, just like with the monthly plan. The yearly price is shown per month and for the full year: switch to “Yearly” above to compare.
